What we say
Four bar selections residing inside the Dunes Resort. This is the only place in town to experience that true 'gay bar' thumpa thumpa.
Whet your whistle at the patio bar known as the Tea Deck, or wet your bod at the pool. Dance the night away in the Disco, or quench your craving for the camp at the Cabaret. And if none of that sounds appealing, you can get your game on in the newest game room bar that overlooks the deck and dance floor.

...that's what i like about-it..its no 5 star resort by any means..lot of hot action in the back wooded area @ nite..prices kinda of high because of the short season..best time to go is wknds when the chicago crowd comes..plenty to do in town & then there's the oval-beach which is awesome too..the north-end is the gay section lots of skin action there as well...great summer get-a-way..

This is place is always a blast on hot summer holiday weekend. They have a huge outside wooden deck bar dance floor where you can bump and grind, get all horned up, and then sneak off to “the woods” behind the motel for a release, or simply sneak back your room for the release. The rooms range from tasteful to trashy. Awesome summer tea dance on Sundays!

we made our own fun....rooms were over priced for what we got. but fun areas to hang out. I am old enough to drink from a glass, Hate the soft plastic cups.

There really isn't that much more to say about this place. My friend Brian invited me here for Labor Day Weekend 2008 and before I agreed to go he described it as "kinda trashy, but fun." Well, he was absolutely right. The Dunes is a gay resort with a motel, pool, and huge dancehall housing several bars and a cabaret (although no drag shows, which I would have preferred over the lounge singers). DJ David Knapp and DJ Joe Gauthreaux both played, making each night lots of fun while I was there.
The thing I found most entertaining (although I only observed) was that the basement of one of the motel buildings was converted into... well... a bath house. "Rooms" are available pretty cheap and you get a bed, a table, and an ashtray. If you don't want to splurge, most guys could actually be found out back in the woods. Yes. The woods. :)
Go. Have fun. Just don't expect much (and bring your bug spray... it's amazingly useful even if you don't decide to get lost in the trees).
